PENGASSAN President, Francis Johnson Is Dead.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria(PENGASSAN), Francis Johnson, has been confirmed dead. It was learnt that Johnson died in the early hour of Friday. The deceased, who became President of the union in 2014, was said to have passed on after an ailment. The death of Francis was confirmed by the General Secretary of PENGASSAN, Okugbawa Lumumba via telephone call with Punch Newspaper Correspondent. "Members of the union are on their way to pay a condolence visit to the family and a statement wouod be issued later," Lumumba said.

R. Kelly Charged with 11 New Counts of Sex Abuse.

R&B superstar, R. Kelly, has been charged with 11 felony Sex crime by Chicago prosecutors on Thursday, what his lawyer said was a refiling of counts from an existing case. In February 2019, 10 felony charges have already been filled against the R&B superstar for the alleged abuse of four women. According to Kelly's Lawyer Steve Greenberg, the latest counts are refiled charges from an allegation from 10 years ago, and not a new case. " These are the same conduct, just charged differently , same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts, "Greenberg said on Twitter. Kelly is currently out on bail. He will appear in court June 6 on the new charges, US media reported.

Surrender Yourselves to EFCC- Fayose Tells Amosun, Okorocha

The former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has advised the immediate past governors of Ogun and Imo states, Ibikunle Amosun and Rochas Okorocha, respectively, to surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Fayose gave this advice during the rumours about the alleged arrest of Okorocha and his wife, Nkechi , by the anti-graft agency. Fayose on his twitter handle @GovAyoFayose noted that regardless of whether the Okorochas' arrest was true or not, he knew that the day would come when EFCC would be going after the former governors. He went on to welcome Okorocha to what he termed the "EFCC Alumni Club" and enjoined the government agency not to "look away from Amosun" He said ," Just reading that Okorocha was arrested by EFCC. A Nigerian by name, Adili Ejike, was a very lucky man after he escaped death following the decision of Singapore's supreme Court to void his earlier conviction for drug-related offences. According to Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Ministry in Abuja on Wednesday, this is the first time in Singapore that a Nigerian convicted of possession of illicit drugs and sentenced to death would be set free. The statement read in part, " Mr. Adili Chibuije Ejike earlier sentenced to death for importing nearly two-kilogramme of methamphetamine has been granted an acquittal by Singapore's Supreme Court and released with no outstanding charges. A Pregnant Woman, Nine Others Injured During Stampede At Ihedioha's Inauguration

A pregnant woman and nine others were injured in a stampede during the inauguration of Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha's on Wednesday in Owerri. A member of the medical team for the inauguration, Dr. Francis Igwe, confirmed the figure to the News Agency of Nigeria in Owerri. The cause of the stampede was as a result of huge crown which besieged the Dan Anyiam Stadium, which is the venue of the inauguration. Dr. Igwe however, said that the victims were revived. He told NAN that the medical team led by Dr. Vin Udokwu were proactive to handle the situation. In his words, " When we saw the crowd l, we suspected that there may be an emergency situation; we quickly put out personnel and equipment together just to get ready, " he said. It was reported that before the inauguration, a woman had fainted and was carried away from the field by medical personnel on a stretcher.

The body of a personal steward of the Borno State Governor was on Monday seen hanging lifeless on a tree at the State Government House. Many were shocked as they gathered to watch the lifeless body of the Steward by name, John Achgwa, dangling on a tree at the back of the Presidential Lodge at the center of the Borno State Government House in a Maiduguri. The cause of the suicide is yet to be ascertained as at when this was reported. His colleagues who spoke to journalist said he had maintained unusual quietness since he resumes for work on Monday. One of them disclosed that he didn't utter a word since morning but he just kept to himself. "We were together till about 2pm until he suddenly disappeared", he said. Twenty-three persons have been killed on Tunga and Kabaje Villages, Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area by suspected bandits on Tuesday as confirmed by the Police. The Director- General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has expressed disappointment and warned Tertiary institutions in the country against enrolling unqualified graduates in the scheme. He said the NYSC would blacklist any higher institution guilty of fraudulent mobilization of unqualified graduates in order to serve as a deterrent to others. The Scheme is set to mobilize its Batch B prospective corps members by June amid reports from the Ministry of Finance that the monthly allowance paid to the members has been increased to N30,000, which is also the new minimum wage. While addressing Data Entry Officers, from Tertiary Institutions and Development and Relocation Officers from NYSC at a workshop held in Abuja on Monday, the DG warned that unqualified graduates should not be enrolled in the forthcoming mobilisation. Four Cheat Death As Two-storey Building Collapses In Imo State

There was pandemonium in Owerri, Imo State, on Sunday as a two-storey building collapsed and left four persons badly injured. The incident was said to have happened around 4:30pm at No. 10 Amaram Extension Street close to Dan Anyiam Stadium, where the governor-elect of the state, Emeka Ihedioha held an interdenominational church service ahead of his inauguration on Wednesday. Four persons, including a female occupant were rescued from under the rubble according to an anonymous eye witness. One of the survivors, identified as Paul, said that he had to jump out of the building after he heard a strange sound. "This building has remained uncompleted for over 20 years. This is highly unfortunate. The blocks have been soaked in water, leading to its collapse. Surprisingly, the owner left this place 15 minutes before the collapse," another eye witness said. My Experience Traveling to Senegal by Road in 6 days

I have read many stories about how people traveled out of the country by road and their ordeals. I never thought it will get to me. I was invited to Senegal by my uncle for a little business arrangement and because I had a virgin passport, I was told I have to deflower it with lots of stamps for countries like the UK and US to grant me Visa (You know all those stuff), so my only option was to travel by road in other to get stamps of at least 3 countries. I was to travel with 2 other guys since it was my first time, so I had to wait for them to come pick me up. I called one of the guys to confirm our meeting point and he described it and told me to come out around 5 pm as we were to take the Seme route. They were coming all the way from Abuja to Lagos so I had to calculate the traffic they will definitely meet in Lagos before I left my house at Festac by 6pm to wait for them at Lagos State University Main Gate along Iyana-Iba, Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
