The UN General Assembly has declared August 22nd as International Day to commemorate the Victims of Acts of Violence based on Religion or Belief on Tuesday. This followed the adoption of draft resolution A/73/L85 tabled by Poland with support from several countries. The following countries are in support of this declaration: Brazil, Jordan, Canada, Egypt, Nigeria, Iraq, the United States and Pakistan. Details later....

The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, Mr. Dele Oshinowo, on Satiurday urged Nigerian Clerics to always tell politicians the truth for the sake of the masses.

There was mourning on Sunday in Egbeda Village near Osogbo following the electrocution of two members of Celestial Church of Christ. The incident occurred during service in church. At least two people died while the other two survived with severe injuries.
