We’ll take 100m Nigerians out of poverty – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has promised the APC government will take 100 million Nigerians from poverty to prosperity in the next 10 years. Buhari disclosed this in his opening speech at the inaugural June 12, Democracy Day celebration on Wednesday in Abuja. US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he decided to ban transgender Americans from serving I'm the military because they take a " massive amounts of drugs". Trump told Britain's ITV television in a wide-ranging interview that the military had strict rules regulating the use of prescription drugs. "They take massive amounts of drug s, they have to, and you are not allowed to take drugs, you are in the military, you are not allowed to take any drugs, " Trump said. "And they have to, after the operation they have to, they have no choice." The ban went into force in April following a protracted legal battle that went all the way to the US Supreme Court. River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the vacation of roadside mechanics, car dealers, street traders and private taxi park operators in the street of Port Harcourt within 30 days. While speaking with the mechanics, street traders and others at the Government House, Port Harcourt pm Friday, Wike said the artisans and traders must comply with the stipulated period because his administration was committed to the restoration of the Garden City status of the state capital. His words, " I am giving all groups one month to leave the roads. Within this one month, you should find alternative locations to do your business. PENGASSAN President, Francis Johnson Is Dead.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria(PENGASSAN), Francis Johnson, has been confirmed dead. It was learnt that Johnson died in the early hour of Friday. The deceased, who became President of the union in 2014, was said to have passed on after an ailment. The death of Francis was confirmed by the General Secretary of PENGASSAN, Okugbawa Lumumba via telephone call with Punch Newspaper Correspondent. "Members of the union are on their way to pay a condolence visit to the family and a statement wouod be issued later," Lumumba said.

Surrender Yourselves to EFCC- Fayose Tells Amosun, Okorocha

The former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has advised the immediate past governors of Ogun and Imo states, Ibikunle Amosun and Rochas Okorocha, respectively, to surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Fayose gave this advice during the rumours about the alleged arrest of Okorocha and his wife, Nkechi , by the anti-graft agency. Fayose on his twitter handle @GovAyoFayose noted that regardless of whether the Okorochas' arrest was true or not, he knew that the day would come when EFCC would be going after the former governors. A Pregnant Woman, Nine Others Injured During Stampede At Ihedioha's Inauguration

A pregnant woman and nine others were injured in a stampede during the inauguration of Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha's on Wednesday in Owerri. A member of the medical team for the inauguration, Dr. Francis Igwe, confirmed the figure to the News Agency of Nigeria in Owerri. The cause of the stampede was as a result of huge crown which besieged the Dan Anyiam Stadium, which is the venue of the inauguration. Dr. Igwe however, said that the victims were revived. He told NAN that the medical team led by Dr. Vin Udokwu were proactive to handle the situation. In his words, " When we saw the crowd l, we suspected that there may be an emergency situation; we quickly put out personnel and equipment together just to get ready, " he said. It was reported that before the inauguration, a woman had fainted and was carried away from the field by medical personnel on a stretcher.
