A journalist with Port Harcourt-based Niheria Info radio station, Kofi Bartel's, is currently recuperating in hospital after being allegedly tortured by personnel of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Rivers State. Bartel's said he suffered a swollen knee after he was hit sevwrall times with wooden bars by the policemen during an incident at Mgbuoba in the Obio/Akpo Local Government Area of the the state. The rape lawsuit against Juventus star Cristiano Rinaldo has been dropped, according to a report from Bloomberg on Wednesday. A notice voluntary dismissal was filled last month in Neveda state court in Las Vegas. In September 2018, Kathryn Mayorga, now 34, claimed the Juventus player had attacked her in the penthouse of a Las Vegas hotel in 2009 when she was 25 and was paid $375,000 in hush money. She said she was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement by Ronaldo's lawyers at the time, but reopened the case and filed charges in Las Vegas, demanding $200,000 in damages. Katheryn had now ended her lawsuit, meaning the Juventus attacker can now draw a line under this chapter. According to Bloomberg, a notice of voluntary dismissal was reportedly filed in May in a Nevada State Court in Las Vegas, but the reasons for it are not clear at the time as the filing does not say whether a settlement was reached with the Portuguese superstar regarding the rape case.

Trump told Britain's ITV television in a wide-ranging interview that the military had strict rules regulating the use of prescription drugs. "They take massive amounts of drug s, they have to, and you are not allowed to take drugs, you are in the military, you are not allowed to take any drugs, " Trump said. Switzerland Sues Nigeria Over Detained Tanker Vessel

Nigeria has been dragged to the international court by Switzerland over the detention of a tanker vessel for over a year and four months. The ship, crew and cargo have been under detention off Port Harcourt. In a statement, the Swiss Foreign Ministry disclosed that it had since May 21 requested the International Tribunal in charge of the Law of the Sea to order Nigeria to release the tanker vessel, its crew and cargo. The tanker vessel was arrested for entering Nigerian waters illegally and trafficking on diesel. However, the captain of the ship had denied the allegations, saying he had all papers covering him and the transactions. Some cre members, except four Ukrainians, had already been allowed to leave the ship which has the capacity for 5,500 tonnes of cargo. Oando Plc's share price had dropped by 9.52 per cent on Monday, after the Securities and Exchange Commission ordered the resignation of the company's Group Chief Executive Officer and other affected board members. There was multiple attacks on military bases in Borno state carried out by Boko Haram Insurgents on Monday. According to Security sources, the insurgents overran three of them and stole weapons. Fighter believed to be from the Isamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), the IS-linked faction of Boko Haram, stormed four bases from Friday through Sunday in the latest spate of attacks targeting the army, sources from the military and militia said. No immediate details on casualties as at when this information was reported. The insurgents made a failed attempt to seize a base in the town of Dikwa on Sunday, following a predawn attack. MFM suspends Abuja pastor who raped and impregnated a teenager.

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries on Monday has indefinitely suspended the 'Pastor' of its Life Camp area branch in Abuja, David Onyekachukwu, over an indecent relationship with a 16-year old girl. The church has come out to refute that Onyekachukwu is "not an ordained pastor" and has been arrested by the police. The MFM premised the indefinite suspension on its investigation which established that the 'Pastor' raped the girl and consequently resulted in pregnancy. The suspect, was said to have volunteered to provide shelter and also conduct deliverance on the girl after she was accused of witchcraft, but thereafter took advantage of the vulnerability of the girl, repeatedly. The victim narrated that the first time the pastor raped her was in March 2019 during her birthday. Former Arsenal forward, Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a car crash. His former club, Sevilla Fc confirmed this on their twitter handle. The 35 year old Spaniard, who has won the Premier League and FA Cup during his time with Arsenal, died in a traffic collision. Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria(PENGASSAN), Francis Johnson, has been confirmed dead. It was learnt that Johnson died in the early hour of Friday. The deceased, who became President of the union in 2014, was said to have passed on after an ailment. The death of Francis was confirmed by the General Secretary of PENGASSAN, Okugbawa Lumumba via telephone call with Punch Newspaper Correspondent. "Members of the union are on their way to pay a condolence visit to the family and a statement wouod be issued later," Lumumba said.

R. Kelly Charged with 11 New Counts of Sex Abuse.

R&B superstar, R. Kelly, has been charged with 11 felony Sex crime by Chicago prosecutors on Thursday, what his lawyer said was a refiling of counts from an existing case. In February 2019, 10 felony charges have already been filled against the R&B superstar for the alleged abuse of four women. According to Kelly's Lawyer Steve Greenberg, the latest counts are refiled charges from an allegation from 10 years ago, and not a new case. The former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has advised the immediate past governors of Ogun and Imo states, Ibikunle Amosun and Rochas Okorocha, respectively, to surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. A pregnant woman and nine others were injured in a stampede during the inauguration of Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha's on Wednesday in Owerri. A member of the medical team for the inauguration, Dr. Francis Igwe, confirmed the figure to the News Agency of Nigeria in Owerri. The cause of the stampede was as a result of huge crown which besieged the Dan Anyiam Stadium, which is the venue of the inauguration. Dr. Igwe however, said that the victims were revived. He told NAN that the medical team led by Dr. Vin Udokwu were proactive to handle the situation. He said the NYSC would blacklist any higher institution guilty of fraudulent mobilization of unqualified graduates in order to serve as a deterrent to others. The Scheme is set to mobilize its Batch B prospective corps members by June amid reports from the Ministry of Finance that the monthly allowance paid to the members has been increased to N30,000, which is also the new minimum wage. Four Cheat Death As Two-storey Building Collapses In Imo State

There was pandemonium in Owerri, Imo State, on Sunday as a two-storey building collapsed and left four persons badly injured. The incident was said to have happened around 4:30pm at No. 10 Amaram Extension Street close to Dan Anyiam Stadium, where the governor-elect of the state, Emeka Ihedioha held an interdenominational church service ahead of his inauguration on Wednesday. Four persons, including a female occupant were rescued from under the rubble according to an anonymous eye witness. One of the survivors, identified as Paul, said that he had to jump out of the building after he heard a strange sound. "This building has remained uncompleted for over 20 years. My Experience Traveling to Senegal by Road in 6 days

I have read many stories about how people traveled out of the country by road and their ordeals. I never thought it will get to me. I was invited to Senegal by my uncle for a little business arrangement and because I had a virgin passport, I was told I have to deflower it with lots of stamps for countries like the UK and US to grant me Visa (You know all those stuff), so my only option was to travel by road in other to get stamps of at least 3 countries. I was to travel with 2 other guys since it was my first time, so I had to wait for them to come pick me up. I called one of the guys to confirm our meeting point and he described it and told me to come out around 5 pm as we were to take the Seme route. They were coming all the way from Abuja to Lagos so I had to calculate the traffic they will definitely meet in Lagos before I left my house at Festac by 6pm to wait for them at Lagos State University Main Gate along Iyana-Iba, Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
